Culebra is a small municipal island has part of Puerto Rico. Culebra count with numerous cays, beaches and a small town. Flamenco Beach holds the title to be one of the top 5 best beaches in the world.

Culebra holds one the most beautiful beaches in the world like Flamenco Beach and is also famous for the completely crystal clear waters. Major part of the island is natural reserve. Many sea turtles came to put their eggs and give birth to new little sea turtles. Culebra is a paradise for snorkeling and scuba diving. The island is accessible by ferry from Fajardo, available twice a day ($4.50). It is also accessible by plane; Culebra's small airport provides domestic services to and from San Juan ($60 one-way). The airport is served by Air Culebra from San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport and by Vieques Air Link from San Juan, Fajardo and Vieques.
Learn About Culebra History
Culebra was founded by Cayetano Escudero Sanz on October 27, 1880. This first settlement was called San Ildefonso, to honor the Bishop of Toledo, San Ildefonso de la Culebra. Culebra (or "Snake") island is also known as "Isla Chiquita" (Small Island) and "Ultima Virgen" (last virgin) due to its position at the end of the Virgin Islands archipelago. Two years later, on September 25, 1882, construction of the Culebrita Lighthouse began. It was completed on February 25, 1886 which made it the oldest operating lighthouse in the Caribbean until 1975, when the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard finally closed the facility.
