Playita Rosada is part of the Natural Reserve La Parguera in Lajas, Puerto Rico. This recreation area count with the biggest natural pool in the Caribbean. Administrated by Department of Natural Resources and Lajas Municipality. Playa Rosada is part of the Blue Flag program and this ensure to have continuos test water quality and essential facilities.
La Playita Rosada name have an origin with two different versions of history facts. The first would be that the family that administrated a plaza on this area last name were Rosado. The second history fact would be that behind the mountain of this recreation area, in the past there was salt water accumulation that get condensed with the sun and make salt deposits, when storms or high waves tides get into the salt deposits, the currents dilute this formations and turns the water with a pink tone across the beach.
On La Playita Rosada you are going to find a Natural pool inside of the sea with a net around the deck and harbor that helps to create the pool. This net helps to create an even safer environment for kids and families. The pool of Playita Rosada deepness starts at 3.5 feet to a maximum of 6 feet deep. The water most of the time is clear and it counts with the vigilance and service of lifeguards.
The facilities of La Playita Rosada includes: parking area, picnic tables, gazebos, showers and bathrooms. It also counts with a small beach shore, very calm and shallows waters. Is not by any means the best beach but it can complement the experience. One note is that, you need to bring everything you are going to drink, snack or eat. Close to this area there is a great variety of restaurants but you are going to need your car to get to it.
La Playita Rosada have become one iconic place in Puerto Rico, very frequent and visited by many locals and tourists. It have been used for many postcard photos and has one of the many popular attractions on the south west part of Puerto Rico. It is a beautiful place to have some fun and just continue your enjoyment in La Parguera.
